Discover the highlights of Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. Enjoy a sleigh ride, explore the Arktikum Museum, visit Santa Claus and cross the line into the Arctic Circle on this full-day tour of the winter wonderland!

Rovaniemi Full-Day City Tour

You'll begin your full-day tour of Rovaniemi after being picked up from your hotel, at which point you'll be taken to the foothills of Ounasvaara Fell, the city's highest peak. If you're feeling adventurous, you're in luck: here you'll have the opportunity to climb up to the top of the hill. A fantastic way to start the day!

Your next stop will be equally special: experiencing the beautiful animals of Lapland up close. Enjoy a 500-metre trip on a sled pulled by huskies, one of the oldest dog breeds in the world, as well as a brief 400-metre reindeer sleigh ride! Admire the stunning wintery landscapes around you on this new and fun way to travel through the snow. Then, head back into the warmth and shake off the chill with a steaming cup of coffee and some biscuits.

Then, we'll head to Santa Claus Village, where you'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and you'll even meet Father Christmas himself, his helpers and his reindeer. You'll even be able to deliver a letter to him in person! The village also crosses the line marking the Arctic Circle, so why not take a photo with a foot on each side?

Afterward, you'll head straight to the Arktikum Museum, one of the most iconic buildings in the city. Not only is the museum dedicated to teaching visitors about the different periods of the ice age, the secrets of the Aurora Borealis, the animals of the Artic and the area's indigenous Sami people, but it's also an architectural gem. The entire building was constructed with a focus on local natural materials, and its highlight is a 564-foot-long (172 m) glass corridor stretching from north to south.

To finish off your full day of adventure, you'll be taken back to Rovaniemi and dropped off at your hotel.

Partial Closures

Please note that the Arktikum Museum is closed on Mondays, except in December. In that case, the itinerary will remain the same, without the museum visit.
