Tour Details

On the day of our adventure, we'll meet at the Rotorua Information Center from where we'll head out in our vehicle to the Waimangu Volcanic Valley. Ready to experience the world's

Upon arrival at the park, we'll set off on a guided hiking tour through the valley. Alongside our local guide, we'll traverse these incredible landscapes, admiring the stunning volcanic valley.

As we walk, be sure to take in the lush native forests surrounding us. Our guide will share plenty of insights about the geothermal marvels that make up this area. Having formed in 1886, this volcanic valley is the only one to have formed in written history!

Our walk will take us to Lake Rotomahana, where our kayaking adventure begins. After a quick safety briefing, we'll paddle out. We’ll set off on a guided kayak journey, as we get an up-close view of geothermal displays, from steaming cliffs to sweeping panoramic waterscapes.

From our kayak, we’ll take in this unspoiled, protected geothermal wonderland. Like in our walking tour, our guide will share stories of the valley, including the cultural and natural significance of the area in Maori heritage. An incredible cultural experience!

After our time on the water, we’ll return to Rotorua, bringing our tour to an end 5 hours later.
