When booking, you can choose from the following options. All depart from 1 Lakefront Drive, in Rotorua. Below, you can see the details of each option:
15-minute Flight
Selecting this option, you'll board the floatplane and take off to fly over Mokoia Island, the ideal opportunity to see the volcanic caldera Rotorua is situated on. From the floatplane, you'll also see the lakes of Okotaina, Tarawera, Okareka, Rotokakahi and Tikitapu. As well as that, you'll have a bird's eye view of the city of Rotorua from Sulphur Point. You'll love it!
30-minute Flight
If you book the 30-minute floatplane ride, as well as flying over the lakes of Rotorua, you'll pass over the highest part of Mount Tarawera. Without a doubt, it's the perfect opportunity to see one of New Zealand's most important active volcanoes. You'll also see Waimangu Thermal Valley and Frying Pan Lake.
1-hour Flight + Stopover
If you want to explore the landscapes of Rotorua, this option is for you. During this flight, you'll soar over the most beautiful and active geothermal parks in the region.
First of all, we'll take off and fly over Mokoia Island, enjoying a panoramic view of the caldera on which Rotorua is located and its impressive lakes. The route will continue past Mount Tarawera, with a view of the crater of the country's most important active volcano.
The next part of the flight will take us to Waimangu Valley, the world's youngest geothermal park, where we'll also see Frying Pan Lake and Inferno Crater. Afterwards, the floatplane will take us to the Hidden Orakei Korako Valley, where we'll land so you can explore one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand's North Island on foot.
After an hour's stop, we'll return to the floatplane and fly back to the starting point.
