On our tour from Rosario de la Frontera, you'll travel to El Crestón by jeep. As well as visiting this famous mountain in the province of Salta, you'll go on an exciting hike around this beautiful area.

El Crestón Jeep Tour & Hike

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Rosario de la Frontera and drive our jeep to San José de Metán. In the outskirts of this town we'll find El Crestón, one of the most beautiful mountains in the province of Salta.

During our 5-mile (8-kilometre) journey in the jeep from Rosario, we'll travel through the lush Yungas jungle, which is also known as a cloud forest. We'll stop at the El Crestón Ecolodge and start a hike through this dense jungle and its breathtaking greenery.

As we hike, we'll head towards a well-known rocky area in El Crestón. This is the crest of Medialuna, from which we'll see birds endemic to this area flying overhead. One of these birds is the large and majestic Andean Condor. We'll also look out at incredible views of San José de Metán, Yatasto and El Galpón. After admiring views of these localities from the summit, we'll conclude our 2-hour hike by returning to the lodge.

When we get back to the Ecolodge, we'll have a traditional Argentine barbecue meal in this beautiful natural area of Salta.

After lunch, we'll return to your hotel in Rosario de la Frontera. We should arrive back at your hotel at 6 pm.
