Coclé Cultural Tour + El Caño Archaeological Park
Description
At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from the meeting point that you choose and leave behind the Riviera Pacifica to start exploring the province of Coclé.
The first stop of the day will be El Caño archaeological park, where we'll discover the remains of Precolombian cemeteries which go back to the year 700. We'll uncover what life was like in this area centuries ago and learn some interesting cultural and historical facts about the region.
After an hour exploring this archaeological site, we'll head to La Pintada town. Here, we'll visit a tobacco factory and an artisan centre for traditional Panama painted hats. The techniques to produce this accessory are a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Find out why!
Next, we'll journey to Penonomé, the capital of the province of Colcé, where we'll take a panoramic route of about 1 hour. Along the way, we'll see charming spots and the most important monuments, such as the San Juan Bautista Cathedral, which dates back to the end of the 16th century.
Our final stop will be Antón to take some photos, before returning to the initial pickup point after 6 hours of activity.
