Inca Trail 3-Day Hike

Day 1: Riobamba - Tres Cruces

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba and set off for our first stop on the Inca Trail. This 3,728-mile (6,000-kilometre) route stretches across Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador

Our hike will begin in Achupallas, a small village located at an altitude of 10,826 feet (3,300 metres) where you'll have a picnic lunch. Afterwards, we'll spend 4 hours hiking through green meadows until we reach an altitude of 12,959 feet (3,950 metres). We'll set up our campsite here and have a tasty dinner in the area around Tres Cruces.

Day 2: Achupallas - Patococha

Rise and shine! We'll begin our day with a tasty breakfast before setting off on a 7-hour hike to the Cuchilla de Tres Cruces. This arid area sits at an altitude of 13,123 feet (4,000 metres). From here, you'll admire fantastic views of the Sansahuín Lagoon. You'll also be given a bag of food that you can enjoy at your leisure.

Next, we'll go down to the Culebrillas Lagoon, which is home to an ancient legend of the Cañari people. We'll then explore the archaeological site of Paredones de Molleturo and see the remains of three Inca temples as we discover their relationship with nature.

After visiting this site, we'll continue walking until we come to the Patococha Lagoon. We'll set up camp here, have dinner and then go to sleep under the stars.

Day 3: Patococha - Ingapirca - Riobamba

Good morning! We'll wake up and have a tasty breakfast and then spend 4 hours walking along the Inca Trail to the ruins of Ingapirca, the largest Inca remains in all of Ecuador.

When we get there, we'll stand before the Temple of Sun and discover the history of the Inca invasion of the Cañari people and how this is reflected in the constructions. After this tour, we'll enjoy a traditional lunch and then travel to Riobamba. Our arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 5 pm.
