Enjoy a trekking route through the paradisiacal landscapes located in the south of Mauritius with this Chamarel Waterfalls Tour. You'll travel through the spectacular natural environment.
Chamarel Waterfalls Tour
We'll meet at 9 am at the entrance of the Chamarel Seven Colour Lands Geopark. This is one of the most captivating natural areas in the southwest of Mauritius, and its landscapes will make you fall in love from start to finish!
After a short talk on the itinerary, we'll go by 4x4 to the most beautiful areas of the protected natural space of Chamarel. We'll make several stops at the viewpoints of the area to see the spectacular waterfalls of Chamarel. Did you know that these waterfalls are the highest in Mauritius, reaching no less than 100 meters!
From the viewpoints, we'll go with the 4x4 to a plain where we'll start the trekking route through Chamarel. On this walk, which will last between 3 and 4 hours, we'll cover a stretch of 4 kilometres that will take us to the waterfalls. The route will run through different paths between 100 and 300 meters high. In addition, we'll cross a small stream called Riviere du Camp, whose course will not cover us beyond our knees.
At the end of the stream, the Chamarel waterfalls await us, undoubtedly a jewel of Mauritius. You'll have 30 minutes of free time by the waterfalls, where you can swim in their natural pools and explore the caves located behind the torrents. Finally, we'll return to the point where we started the trekking route and we'll return by 4x4 to the Seven Lands of Colours Geopark.
Once we reach this protected area, where we will arrive between 12 pm and 1 pm, you'll be able to visit the Geopark on your own. Its sand dunes, which are up to seven different shades, are another of the main attractions of Chamarel.
