At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Las Coloradas Tourist Park to begin this panoramic tour. Through the tour, we'll discover the charms of this small fishing port located on the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Let's go!
We'll begin the tour by hopping into our vehicle at the Las Coloradas Natural Park. This park contains a wetland full of wide-ranging biodiversity. Did you know that this is a protected area? It's categorised as a Biosphere Reserve, that is to say, there are areas of great importance and ecological preservation.
We'll tour around these lagoons as we're told about their peculiarities. Their salt production results in it being a perfect habitat for many aquatic birds, as it meets the conditions suited for them to be able to seek shelter, feed, reproduce and breed. Have you ever seen a Caribbean Pink Flamingo? If we're lucky, we might!
Following on from this we'll take an unforgettable tour of the heart of the biggest salt plant in Mexico. This way, we'll be able to appreciate the production process of sea salt through evaporation, the formation of salt crystals and how it's stored in huge mounds. It'll feel like you're on the moon!
Before returning, we'll have time to take some impressive photos of the pink waters of Las Coloradas. Finally, we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point after around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
