Hanging bridges, caves and waterfalls await us in the Tijuca National Park. In this natural area of Rio de Janeiro, we'll enjoy an exciting hiking tour through stunning scenery.
Tijuca National Park Hiking Tour
Between 8 am and 9 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and drive to the Tijuca National Park.
Once we arrive at the forest which covers a spectacular 15.44 square mile (40 square km) urban forest, we'll begin our exciting adventure route. This excursion consists of a 5.6 mile (9km) hike that will take us through the Tijuca Forest and pass along quiet and tranquil trails. The whole route will take us about 6 hours in total.
On our tour, which will be quite physically demanding, we'll cross over suspension bridges, hills and peaks. Along the way, we'll also visit the ruins of old coffee plantations and pass through various caves and waterfalls of stunning natural beauty.
We'll take several breaks so that you can recharge your batteries and snack on the food you've brought with you. With our energy restored, we'll continue our hike to the Taquara Ridge, a peak located at an impressive altitude of 2670,6 feet (814 metres). Finally, we'll head to a natural waterfall in the area to enjoy a refreshing swim.
After a quick dip, we'll return to the starting point of the trail and return to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro, arriving at around 5 pm.
