Free Offroading Tour of Tijuca National Park
Tour Details
Let's meet at 59 Paulino Fernandes Street to begin our Jeep adventure through Tijuca National Park, the largest preserved urban forest in the world. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles, coatis, fish, monkeys, and other wildlife along the way.
First up, we'll visit the Vista Chinesa viewpoint, featuring an Eastern-style pagoda that offers spectacular panoramic views of the city's southern area and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Here, we'll share the history of the lagoon and its connection to tea cultivation in Brazil.
Next, we'll continue along the Taunay Trail, leading us to Cascatinha, the park's tallest waterfall. We'll stop here for about 40 minutes, giving you the chance to jump in and enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pool.
After relaxing, we'll visit the charming Mayrink Chapel, nestled in the heart of the forest. This quiet church offers a wonderful sense of tranquility. Then, we'll follow the trail to see the giant jackfruit tree, which bears the largest fruit in the world!
We'll continue our journey to the Tijuca National Park visitor's center to explore the permanent exhibition 'A Forest in the Metropolis.' Then, we'll conclude our tour at the historic Solidão Lake reservoir, a site rich in history.
Finally, we'll return to our starting point, wrapping up our adventure 3 hours later.
