Options
When booking you can choose between two different options. Both last an hour and a half and start at the time of your choice at the Carnival Experience in the Cidade do Samba in Rio de Janeiro. As this is a private tour, you'll also have an exclusive English-speaking guide.
Backstage tour
With this option, we'll get to know all the hard work and artistry behind the great Rio de Janeiro Carnival. During the backstage tour of the premises that Acadêmicos da Grande Rio uses to prepare the performances, we'll see how the elaborate costumes are made, as well as the floats that parade through the Marquês de Sapucaí sambadrome during one of the biggest celebrations in Brazil.
We'll also visit the exhibition hall to discover the history of samba and the Carioca Carnival. To finish the experience, we'll go to the backstage dressing rooms of Cidade do Samba to try on some Carnival costumes for ourselves - you'll have a blast!
We'll end the tour with a delicious caipirinha and a toast to Rio's Carnival.

If you choose this option, in addition to exploring the backstage areas of Carnival as described above, you'll participate in a samba and percussion class taught by professional dancers and percussionists - the perfect way to complete the experience!
