Private Tour of Cesis
Cesis Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in Riga at 9:00 am, we'll head to Cesis, the third oldest city in Latvia.
Upon arrival, we'll set off on a guided walking tour to discover all the attractions of this medieval city. We'll walk through the old town of Cesis, which is perfectly preserved after more than 800 years of history. Along the way, we'll stop at the town's most important places of interest including Roze Square, the Princess's House and St. John's Church.
We'll then approach Cesis Castle, a medieval fortress full of history. To learn more about the historic castle, we'll go inside and enjoy a candlit climb up its towers. The views from the top will be unforgettable!
After the tour of the castle, you'll have an hour of free time to get lunch in a local restaurant. We'll then meet back up again to get in touch with the nature that surrounds Cesis. We'll embark on a 6-kilometre hiking route to admire the red sandstone cliffs that characterise the valley of the Gauja River.
Finally, we'll return to Riga, where we'll finish the excursion at about 5:00 pm.
