Santo Antão Island Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Santo Antão and embark on a private tour of this beautiful African isle, the northernmost island of Cape Verde.
First, we'll go to the Cova de Paul, the largest crater of the archipelago. The diameter of this volcanic caldera reaches 1 kilometer! We'll stop at a viewpoint in the area to enjoy spectacular panoramic views, and then we'll head to the uniquely shaped Delgadinho mountain ridge.
Then, after a brief stop in the picturesque village of Povoacão, we'll continue our route through Santo Antão to the northern tip of the island. Here, we'll take you to visit the viewpoint of Ponta do Sol to take in stunning views of the vast Pacific Ocean. You'll even get to meet local fishermen, who will teach us the main traditions of their trade!
The next stop on our tour will be in Fontainhas, considered by National Geographic to be one of the 10 villages with the most beautiful views in the world! After a stop in this scenic village, where you'll have the opportunity to taste the local cuisine, we'll move to the green valley of Paul, one of the most beautiful places in Cape Verde!
To spice things up, we'll continue our tour with a visit to a distillery to learn about the preparation of grogue, the traditional rum of Santo Antão. Lastly, we'll take you to the old Jewish village of Sinagoga, and then at 4 pm, you'll be taken back to your hotel, where the tour will conclude.
