Discover one of the greatest natural jewels of Castile and Leon with this Sanabria Lake Boat Trip. You'll travel along the largest glacial lake in Europe.
Description
At the selected time, we'll meet at Custa Lago Beach, where we'll embark on the world's first wind-powered catamaran; with zero emissions, zero residues and zero sound, perfect for discovering the flora and fauna of Lake Sanabria!
On board this boat we'll discover how this glacial lake was formed and its curious geomorphological characteristics. As science and fiction sometimes go hand in hand, we'll also learn about the legend of the lake, a curious folk tale that inspired Miguel de Unamuno in his work San Manuel Bueno Mártir.
The boat trip on Lake Sanabria will continue to the Isla de las Moras, one of the most beautiful landscapes of the glacier and the scene of a horrible tragedy that occurred in 1959.
We'll also collect phytoplankton and analyse it under the microscopes while a specialised guide explains the characteristics of each sample. Thanks to the innovative technology on the boat, we'll have the unique opportunity to "peek" into the depths of Lake Sanabria and listen to its sounds - it'll be an unforgettable moment!
After an hour's sailing on Lake Sanabria, we'll head back to the pier, where it'll be time to taste the delicious local cider. The perfect end to a day of discovering the secrets of Lake Sanabria!
