Reykjanes Day Trip
Reykjanes Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in Reykjavik between 8:30 and 9 am, we'll set off on our day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, a natural paradise in southwest Iceland.
Arriving at our destination, you'll be captivated by the unusual landscapes - Reykjanes looks like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie! The first stop of our tour will be at Kleifarvatn, the largest lake on the peninsula and, according to local legend, home to a mysterious monster... we'll let you decide if it's true!
Continuing on our route, we'll reach the Krýsuvík geothermal area, where the brightly colored soil is dotted with hot springs, fumaroles, and maars, craters created by explosions of groundwater. We'll visit Grænavatn, a green lake formed by these very eruptions.
We'll then head onwards to the coast, where we'll enjoy the refreshing sea breeze while watching the many different species of bird flying overhead. We'll also see Reykjanesviti , the oldest lighthouse in Iceland.
The last stop on our day trip will be the bridge between two continents, which crosses between the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia - an awe-inspiring experience!
At the end of the day, we'll head back to Reykjavik, where we'll arrive around 2:30 pm.
Drop off point
When making your reservation, you'll be asked to select whether you prefer to end your tour back in Reykjavik or if you want to be dropped off at the Blue Lagoon. If you choose the latter, please note that the activity does not include entrance to the spa and you'll have to make your own way back to Reykjavik. There is a public transport service connecting both places.
