Kerlingarföll Highlands Tour
Tour Highlights
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Reykjavík and head towards the Kerlingarföll Highlands—a must-see destination in Iceland!
Our first stop will be at Highland Base, where we'll prepare for an exciting hike. Nestled in the Ásgarður Calley, right on the edge of Kerlingarfjöll, Highland Base sets the stage for our adventure. Our journey takes us to Hveradalir, and from there, we'll continue for an additional 2 kilometers (1.25 miles).
Hveradalir, meaning "the valley of hot springs," is one of Iceland's largest geothermal valleys. Some of the powerful natural hot springs should be observed from a safe distance. The valley is surrounded by picturesque rhyolite mountains that form part of the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range.
Here, we'll embark on a trekking route of 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) with a 500-meter (1,640-foot) elevation gain. After this walk, you'll have time to eat at a restaurant in the area or enjoy the food you've brought with you. Then, we'll head to the Highland Baths where you can take a dip in these thermal waters in the Highlands of Kerlingarfjöll.
After a full day of hiking and adventure, we'll bid farewell to Kerlingarfjöll and return to Reykjavik. Anticipate reaching your hotel approximately 12 hours after the initial pickup.
