An iceberg-filled glacier lagoon, awe-inspiring waterfalls and a traditional village: explore the icy landscapes of southern Iceland on this day trip from Reykjavik.
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Reykjavik at the indicated time and set off on the drive to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Throughout the journey, you'll enjoy the staggering beauty of Iceland's unique natural landscapes.
We'll make our first stop at Seljalandsfoss, a spectacular waterfall whose waters fall 200 feet (60 metres) in front of a cave. If you're feeling adventurous, you'll be able to go behind the waterfall to see the mesmerising view of the cascade from within the cave - truly unforgettable!
Continuing on our route, we'll drive through the impressive canyons formed by the Fjadrargljufur River, before making a stop in Vík í Mýrdal. In this small seafront village, often simply called Vík, we'll get to see the natural rock formations located just off the coast. You'll also have time to eat lunch here (not included).
The highlight of the day will be the visit to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, an iceberg-filled lake whose rugged landscapes will leave you speechless. Explore its black sand beaches where, if you're lucky, you'll also get to see some of the seals who live in the area!
At the end of the day, we'll head back to the minibus for the return journey to Reykjavik, where we'll arrive 14 hours later.
