Golden Circle & Horse Riding Tour
Golden Circle & Horse Riding Tour
On the morning of your tour, you'll be picked up from your selected hotel or meeting point in central Reykjavik. Setting off from the Icelandic capital, we'll embark on the 40 minute bus ride to Thingvellir National Park.
This magnificent valley has huge historical, cultural and geological importance. The meeting point of two tectonic plates, it also played host to meetings of an important Icelandic institution for many centuries: do you know what it was?
After visiting Thingvellir, we'll return to the bus and head to Geysir, a vast area of geothermic area where we'll see Strokkur, a breathtaking geyser which erupts columns of boiling water up to 20 metres into the air. So important are these impressive natural hot springs that the English language word for geyser comes from this particular area of Iceland!
Continuing on our tour of Iceland's Golden Circle, we'll make our way to the stunning Gullfoss, or Golden Falls in Icelandic. This spectacular waterfall is located in an enormous canyon on the Hvítá River and its sheer size will doubtless leave you speechless: there are few words to describe its dramatic beauty.
We'll then get back on the bus and head south to the Eldhestar region, located an hour away, where our horses will be waiting for us. We'll embark on a horse riding tour of Hveragerði, part of the Hengill volcano and a spectacular place to be immersed in Icelandic nature.
After an hour of horseback riding, we'll make the return journey to Reykjavik by bus, arriving back at around 7 pm.
