Reykjavik Fishing Trip
Reykjavik Fishing Trip
If you're a fan of fishing, or even if you just fancy a day at sea, this activity is made for you! Meet your guide at the scheduled time at 5 AEgisgardur, where you'll climb aboard a fishing boat ready for your sea angling adventure around Reykjavik.
Set sail over Faxa Bay, whose waters have provided food for local inhabitants for many centuries. Atlantic mackerel, pollock, cod and haddock are just a handful of the species of fish that you might find on your fishing trip from Reykjavik.
Equal parts relaxing and exciting, your fishing day will be well worth the efforts when lunch time rolls around: you'll eat your catch on board the boat! The boat crew will cook up your freshly caught fish and serve it with potatoes, homemade sauce and water. Straight from the sea to your plate!
What's more, if you do the tour between May and August, you'll also make a stop at Akurey Island, also known as Puffin Island for its large populations of these adorable seabirds during the summer months. After birdwatching, you'll then return back to the departure point after three hours of fishing off the coast of Iceland.
Do you need to know how to fish?
Everyone is welcome! Whether you're an experienced angler or it's your first time at sea with a fishing rod, you'll enjoy this activity. If you don't have any previous experience, the boat captain will give you a lesson on the best techniques for fishing in Reykjavik.
