Deildartunguhver & Vidgelmir Cave Tour
Description
Once we gather at the designated meeting point in Reykjavik, we'll set out on our excursion to Deildartunguhver Spring. Are you excited to experience this awe-inspiring natural wonder of Iceland?
Our tour will lead us to the Borgarfjörður region in the western part of Iceland. A scenic road trip of about 2 hours will take us to the renowned Deildartunguhver Spring, the European hot spring with the highest flow rate. Along the way, we'll make a stop at the captivating lava waterfalls, Hraunfossar and Barnafossar, each accompanied by its own set of folk legends!
Following this, we'll take a break in Húsafell for you to enjoy lunch on your own. Then, our adventure continues to the Vidgelmir Cave. Did you know that it ranks among the largest lava caves globally? As we navigate its chambers adorned with intricate lava formations, we'll learn about the cave's evolution over time.
After our exploration of Vidgelmir, we'll return to Húsafell, where you'll have some free time to explore the area at your own pace and perhaps take a relaxing dip in a geothermal pool. It's the perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings!
As we draw the day to a close, we'll head back to our starting point in Reykjavik, where we'll conclude this enriching tour about 10 hours after we began.
