To begin, we'll take a stroll along the Carrer de Sant Joan and take note of the modernist architecture of the Gasull and Rull houses. The next stop will be at Plaça Prim, where we'll see exterior of the Fortuny Theatre, which has been one of the city's main cultural icons since the end of the 19th century.
Our tour of Modernist Reus will then take us along Carrer Llovera, where we'll see the Bartolí, Querol and Tomàs Jordi houses. From there, we'll continue through the historic centre until we come to a stop in front of Antoni Gaudí's birthplace. This brilliant architect, the greatest representative of Catalan modernism, was the creator behind world-famous monuments such as the Sagrada Familia basilica in Barcelona and the Casa Botines in León.
After learning some fun facts about Gaudí, we'll head through Reus' old quarter until we get to the Plaça del Mercadal. Here, we'll admire the elegant modernist façade of the Casa Navàs, which was designed by the Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner at the beginning of the 20th century.
Having spent 2 hours exploring Modernism in Reus, we'll say our goodbyes in the Plaça del Mercadal.
