Cretan Cooking Class
Cretan Cooking Class
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Rethymno at 10 am and travel to the small town of Nippos.
Upon arrival, we'll take a short walk through the centre of the village to learn about the history and peculiarities of Cretan cuisine. Then we'll start to prepare your delicious dishes! To do this, we'll go into a traditional tavern where the chef, with many years of culinary experience, will be waiting for us to pass on their knowledge.
To begin with, we'll learn the basic guidelines for preparing some of the island's fundamental dishes. We'll put on our apron, familiarize ourselves with the organic products that we will use during the cooking and... get down to business!
Dishes such as ntako, some crumbled tomatoes on homemade bread, the traditional tzatziki and gemistas, vegetables stuffed with rice and herbs, will be some of the recipes that we'll take home after this cooking class.
Once we have finished, we'll sit down at the table and taste a main dish and a dessert prepared by the cook. During the whole experience, you'll enjoy the incomparable raki, the most typical liquor of Crete.
Finally, we'll return to the minibus that will take us back to Rethymno, arriving at 3 pm.
