Rambouillet Ticket
Ticket Details
Magnificent chandeliers, elegant rooms, luxurious furniture. The notable personas who have inhabited the royal residence of Rambouillet over the course of history spared no expense as far as decoration is concerned. Completed in the 18th century, it's now one of the most beautiful monuments in the Ile-de-France region.
Property of Louis XVI since 1783, the castle of Rambouillet has accommodated various French personalities such as Napoleon I, Charles de Gaulle, and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. This ticket will let you explore the magnificent halls and rooms of this palace, at your own pace.
During your visit to the castle of Rambouillet, you'll also learn about the history of the many international summits that the monument has hosted. These include the first G7 meeting in 1975 and the Kosovo peace negotiations in 1999.
The ticket also gives you access to the annexed buildings of the castle: the dairy of Queen Marie Antoinette and the House of Shells. The first was a gift from King Louis XVI to his wife, who was very fond of dairy products. The second is a small guest house decorated with small shells of mollusks.
Your ticket also includes access to the gardens of the castle of Rambouillet. The huge site features a vast array of flowerbeds and parks arranged around a large ornamental pond, upon which six artificial islands were built.
