Tres Cascadas Waterfall Hike
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at Plaza Foch in Quito, where we'll begin a hiking route to some of the most impressive waterfalls in Ecuador.
After giving the group some safety guidelines for the excursion, we'll take the Ecovía bus to Playón de la Marín, and then hop on public transportation to reach Loreto.
From there, we'll begin an approximately 40-minute hiking route to discover the wonders hidden in the landscapes of the Ecuadorian highlands. During the hike, we'll also tell you about the local way of life and their customs and traditions.
Eventually, we'll arrive at the spot where the Tres Cascadas ('Three Waterfalls') are located and we'll learn about why they're so special. Getting hungry? Before continuing with the tour, we'll take a break for a delicious picnic lunch.
With our strength restored, we'll descend through the canyon where these magical waterfalls are hidden. After walking for about 30 minutes through a small mountain forest, we'll find the first waterfall. Ready for some breathtaking views?
If you feel like it, you can take a dip in the refreshing water at the third waterfall. There, you'll have some free time to take photos and rest while you appreciate the area's incredible scenery.
At the end of the route, we'll return to the starting point, where transportation back to Loreto will be waiting for us. From there, we'll use public transportation to reach the city of Quito, arriving after a total of 6 hours.
