Quito Tour + Chocolate Tasting
Tour Options
During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between the following options. Both depart from the Basilica of the National Vow at the designated time, have a duration of 3 hours, and finish at the Plaza Central in Quito. Also, both tours include an English-speaking guide, a tour of the historic center of Quito, and a tour of an artisanal chocolate store to take part in a tasting to discover the secrets of Ecuadorian cacao.
Please read below the details of each option:
Tour + Panecillo Tour
We'll start our tour admiring the exterior of the Basilica of the National Vow. From there, we'll walk toward an artisanal chocolate store to enjoy a tasting where you'll appreciate the richness of Ecuadorian cacao. It'll be a delight for your senses!
Afterward, we'll go on a walking tour of Quito's historic center, declared a World Heritage Site, which will captivate you with its squares and buildings. Among the most important sites, you'll find the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, where we'll visit its museum, choir, brewery, and bell tower, from which you can enjoy stunning views.
To conclude our tour, we'll go up to the viewpoint of the Virgin of El Panecillo by car, one of the most iconic spots in the city, which offers scenic views of both northern and southern Quito.
Tour + Basilica & Hotel Quiteño Tour
If you choose this option, we'll enter the Basilica of the National Vow to explore its rose windows, the Torres del Cóndor, and its clocks. From here, you'll enjoy one-of-a-kind views of the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the city.
Just like in the previously mentioned option, our next stop will be at an artisanal chocolate store, where you'll taste different varieties of chocolate and learn about Ecuadorian cacao, considered one of the best in the world.
We'll follow the same itinerary by strolling along the streets of the historic center to reach Plaza Grande, formally known as Independence Square. Here, we'll visit the Hotel Quiteño, a luxurious accommodation where a Cucurucho, a typical character from the Quiteño Easter, will give you a traditional dessert.
Finally, we'll admire the exterior of the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco as we tell you about one of Quito's most famous legends before saying our goodbyes with a traditional snack, which can be sweet or savory.
