Ayahuasca Ceremony at Templo Jempe
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the main entrance of the Iñaquito Shopping Centre and head towards Templo Jempe, where they specialise in holistic medicine.
After a 30-minute bus journey, we'll arrive at our destination, where we'll enjoy this truly unique experience. Are you ready to participate in this ancestral ritual of the Amazonian people?
Before we begin, we'll give a brief introduction to the shamans of the indigenous communities. We'll then open the ceremony with a drink made from guayusa, a plant native to the Ecuadorian Amazon that is said to have numerous benefits. Its leaves are antioxidant, and energising and provide vitamins and minerals that purify body and mind.
Next, we'll begin the ayahuasca ceremony, in which the healer will guide you to achieve this connection with your inner self. During the ritual, it's said that you'll be cleansed of bad energies with plants from the East, including natural snuff. This mixture of ground tobacco and medicinal leaves will be administered through blowing.
What's more, this experience will be further heightened by the sound of Andean flutes and native instruments.
Please note that the ceremony lasts all night. The next day, we'll serve you a menu that includes typical Ecuadorian vegetarian dishes, as well as a cocoa drink.
Finally, after a total of 12 and a half hours of activity, we'll leave you at the meeting point in Quito.
