Suriplaza Colourful Mountains Day Trip
Suriplaza Colourful Mountains Day Trip
Once we've picked you up from your hotel in Putre at 7 am, we'll head to the colourful mountains of Suriplaza in northern Chile.
On our way there, we'll pass by the 19,225-foot (5,860-metre) high Taapacá Volcano. Our journey will continue to the village of Colpita, and from there we'll take a detour to the spectacular Suriplaza Mountains to admire their reddish, ochre and orange hues.
During our day trip, we'll keep our eyes peeled for the local wildlife. We might see animals native to the Chilean Altiplano such as vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. Let's find out how these animals survive in the Andean climate! We'll then stop to eat a picnic lunch of sandwiches, dried fruits and nuts, chocolate and juice.
After we've taken a break, we'll continue discovering the fantastic scenery around Suriplaza. We'll also visit some of the villages located in this part of Chile, such as Cosapilla and Caquena.
Before returning to Putre, we'll make a brief stop in the village of Putre. We'll drop you off at your hotel between 1 and 3 pm.
