Let yourself be enchanted by the breathtaking Andean landscapes of the Chilean Altiplano on our Petacane Hill Hike. We'll set off from Putre and go on an adventure to this mountain in Chile's northernmost region.
Petacane Hill Hike
Between 7 and 8 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Putre and set off on the 3-mile (5-kilometre) drive to Petacane Hill.
Once we've arrived at the base of the mountain, which is located in a beautiful spot in the Andean foothills, we'll set off on our hike. The hike will be of medium difficulty and take between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the pace of the group.
As we gradually make our way up the hill, we'll be accompanied by magnificent views of the Lluscuma pampa. We'll reach an altitude of 11,351 feet (3,460 metres) and admire unparalleled views from the top of the hill.
When we reach the summit, we'll also spot the colonial-era Petacane cross. Did you know that this cross is used in various Andean ceremonies? After learning about these traditional festivities, we'll take a break to have a picnic lunch of sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates and natural juices.
We'll then start walking back down to the starting point. From there, we'll return to your hotel in Putre and drop you off between 11 am and 12 pm.
