Gaze up at the Andean night sky on our unforgettable Purmamarca Hiking Activity at Night. You'll learn all about the local ancestral tradition of cosmovision on this adventure.
Purmamarca Hiking Activity at Night
At 7 pm, we'll set off from the Church of Purmamarca on our nighttime hiking activity through this picturesque town in the province of Jujuy. The beauty of the Andean sky awaits!
As we watch the stars twinkle in the sky, we'll learn some fun facts about the local culture. Our hike will begin in front of the church, where we'll be able to appreciate the cultural identity of the quebradeña, formed over more than 10,000 years. We'll then pass by the cemetery of Purmamarca, where we'll discover some traditions linked to the celebrations of the dead that take place every November.
Our route will also take us past numerous archaeological findings that'll help us to understand Purmamarca's history. In addition, as the sky is covered with stars, we'll tilt our gaze upwards and learn some stories related to Andean cosmovision.
Along the way, we'll discuss the ancestral knowledge of the Purmamarca people, who've long been able to guide walkers through the Chakana and other hills.
We'll finish our nighttime hike back at the meeting point, where we'll say our goodbyes at 9 pm.
