Get to know Punta Cana in a fun and original way with this Truck Safari. We'll visit a cacao & coffee plantation, have a typical Dominican lunch and take a tour of Higüey!
Punta Cana Truck Safari
Between 7 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Punta Cana, where we'll board our safari truck to tour the interior of the Dominican Republic.
We'll start the day by visiting a sugar cane plantation and learning how Dominican rum is made. Afterwards, we'll head to a tobacco factory and watch a demonstration of how to prepare tobacco. You'll also have the chance to see a cacao and coffee plantation and learn about two of the country's other top products.
Next, we'll make our way to the city of Higüey to check out the Basilica-Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia. This church, whose architecture is pretty peculiar, is one of the most visited catholic temples in the Caribbean.
Our safari will continue into the mountains of the interior of the Dominican Republic. We'll pass by different children's schools and visit some local farms, where farmworkers will tell us about their customs and show us their homes. We'll also make a stop to have a delicious buffet lunch where you can sample meats, fish and various typical dishes.
To round off our tour, we'll make a stop at Macao Beach in the northern part of Bávaro. When we get there, you'll see how this area is full of palm trees. It's also one of the best places to take a dip in the glistening blue Caribbean Sea.
After an 8-hour adventure, our safari will come to an end when we drop you off back at your hotel.
