When booking, you can choose between the following options.
Saona Island + Chavon River Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the indicated time, transporting you to the heart of the Dominican Republic. Get ready to uncover mesmerizing landscapes!
Our first stop is along the banks of the Chavón River, where a scenic 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) river walk awaits, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the local fauna, including the remarkable rhinoceros iguana.
Continuing our voyage, we'll sail to the mouth of the Chavón River, then navigate the Caribbean Sea to explore the Atlantis Princess, an ancient sunken freighter nestled near reefs—a perfect spot for snorkeling. Afterward, we'll head to a nearby sandbank, offering another opportunity for a delightful snorkeling experience.
The sea journey proceeds to the Catuano Channel, a natural divide between Saona Island and the mainland, serving as a refuge for marine species like manatees. In Catuano, discover the Caldera—a sanctuary for numerous boats during hurricane threats.
Our course then leads us to Saona Island, renowned as one of the Dominican Republic's most beautiful destinations. You'll have approximately three hours of free time to stroll along the beach, swim in crystal-clear waters, and relax under the shade of towering palm trees.
Delight in a buffet lunch at a beachside restaurant featuring Arab rice, pasta, vegetables, breaded fried chicken, grilled pork chops, and a refreshing green salad.
Concluding our expedition, we'll head to the natural pools of Saona Island—one of the world's largest sandbanks. Enjoy about 45 minutes of free time to enjoy the surroundings and take a refreshing swim if you wish.
At the tour's end, we'll transport you back to your hotel, concluding this 9 to 11-hour adventure.
Schedule: please note that this activity takes place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7 am.
Saona Island + Catalinita Island Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and begin this day trip to the islands of Saona and Catalinita. Did you know that the latter is known as the island of the Turtles?
First of all, we'll go to an area where there is a sunken ship to go snorkelling. We'll continue our journey through a protected area of mangroves and get close to a sand boat.
Afterwards, we'll arrive at the Turtle Island or Catalinita—we're sure you can guess the reason for its name! There, we'll be able to see sea turtles swimming freely. We'll also have time to get close to a stranded ship in the vicinity of the island.
We'll continue sailing towards the second main destination of the day, Saona Island. Did you know that it's considered one of the most beautiful islands of the Dominican Republic? Welcome to the pearl of the Caribbean!
In this paradisiacal corner, we can enjoy a buffet lunch, consisting of seafood rice dishes, pasta, chicken or grilled pork chops. What a delight!
With your energy recovered, you'll have approximately 2 hours of free time to walk along the beach, take a dip in the crystal clear waters or sunbathe under the huge palm trees.
Finally, we'll head to the natural pools of Saona Island, one of the largest sandbanks in the world, where we'll see starfish! You'll have about 45 minutes free to enjoy the surroundings.
After 9 to 11 hours, we'll arrive back at your accommodation.
