Santo Domingo Day Trip
Between 7 and 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and set off for Santo Domingo.
Once we've met the guide our first stop will be the spectacular Los Tres Ojos grotto to see the famous freshwater lakes and its spectacular cave. Then we'll see the outside of the Columbus Lighthouse, where the explorer's remains are said to be located.
Next, we'll make a stop outside the Presidential Palace. We'll observe the stunning exterior of this large-scale neoclassical architectural ensemble before continuing our tour through the historic center of the city, Santo Domingo's beautiful Ciudad Colonial!
The route will take us through the historic center of the city to see the Cathedral Primada de America, the oldest cathedral on the continent. We'll walk along Calle de Las Damas, the oldest street, where we'll see the first stone house built in the new world. We'll also go inside the National Pantheon, where the remains of illustrious historical figures of the Dominican Republic rest.
Our next stop will be in Plaza de España, a square with beautiful terraces and breathtaking views of the Ozama River. This is also the location of the Alcázar de Colón, the Admiral's former residence. You won't be able to stop taking photos as we make our way through its interior!
We'll also visit a souvenir store and check out a semi-precious stone called Larimar. The perfect opportunity to pick up a nice souvenir! Did you know that the Dominican Republic is home to the only mine in the world where this semi-precious stone can be found?
Afterward, we'll leave you some free time to have a coffee, stroll along Calle El Conde, and enjoy this beautiful environment full of squares and historic buildings. Then, we'll refuel with a delicious buffet lunch with typical dishes such as rice, meat stew, and beans.
Following a delicious meal, we'll head to the Malecón to end the tour with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. After taking you back to your hotel, where arrival is scheduled between 6 and 7:30 pm, the tour will conclude.

This tour includes hotel pickup in the following areas: Bávaro, Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Úvero Alto, Bayahibe, Dominicus, La Romana, Juan Dolió, and Boca Chica.
Temporary closures
The Alcazar de Colon will be closed on Mondays. On that day, we will take a panoramic tour of its exterior.
The Alcazar de Colon will remain closed for remodeling works until further notice. During this time, we'll substitute this part of the visit with a tour of the Museum of the Royal Houses (Museo de las Casas Reales), one of the main Cultural Monuments of Dominican History.
