PADI Open Water Diving Course
PADI Open Water Diving Course
Day 1: Theory & practice in confined waters
We'll pick you up at 8:30 am at your hotel in Punta Cana and take you to the diving center, where we'll start with some basic theory on diving techniques. Assembling the equipment, underwater navigation, oxygen tank use, clearing the mask and some tips for underwater communication are among the points that you'll learn.
Then we'll take you to a confined water area to put everything you've learned into practice and get comfortable using the equipment.
Days 2 & 3: Open water dives
Over the course of the next two days, we'll do a total of four open water dives. Ready to explore the Caribbean seabed? In this new environment, we'll test your ability to move freely with the wetsuit and all of the other diving skills you've learned.
We'll explore the seabed of Punta Cana in search of colorful starfish, hawksbill sea turtles, seahorses and schools of tropical fish, not to mention the large coral reefs we'll be swimming next to! At the end of the course, you'll receive a PADI Open Water certificate, the world's most recognized scuba certification.
Duration
The duration of the course is three days with five and a half hours of lessons per day. If you have more time, you can extend the course to four days and do four hours of lessons per day.
Important
After your last dive, you should wait at least 24 hours before boarding a plane or visiting high-altitude areas.
Hotel Pickup
- Option with hotel pickup: When making your reservation, you'll be given the option to choose whether or not you'd like to be picked up at your hotel (valid for hotels located in Punta Cana and Bávaro). If you select this option, we'll pick you up on each day of the activity and drop you off afterwards.
- Option without hotel pickup: If you choose the tour without pickup, we'll meet you instead at the following meeting point: Grand Bay of the Sea, Cabeza de Toro Road, Punta Cana.
