Private Tour to Bani
Description
Between 7 and 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and set off for the city of Bani, the capital of the province of Peravia.
Once we arrive, we'll make our first stop at the famous dunes of Bani. These sand mounds are rich in quartz and feldspar and are created by the sediments from the rivers Bani and Nizao as well as the Bahia stream. Did you know that this phenomenon began all the way back to the Pleistocene period? You'll be able to do a fun sandboarding activity here.
We'll also get the chance to admire the native vegetation such as the red mangrove, the black mangrove, the olive tree, the cambron, or the cayuco. We may also spot lizards, white-breasted herons, flamingos, or bobbins, so keep your camera ready!
Next, we'll head to the flat land known as 'vallecitos', where salt residues pile up and salt mines form. We'll admire the lagoon of El Salado del Muerto, where this exact phenomenon takes place.
Our next destination? Downtown Bani, where we'll visit the cathedral of Nuestra Señora de Regla. This colonial temple houses astatue of the Virgin of Regla, patron saint of Peravia. Then, you'll have an hour of free time to have lunch.
Lastly, we'll head back to Punta Cana, arriving at your hotel between 5 and 6 pm.
