Activity Details

After meeting at the designated time at Punta Cana Resort & Club, we'll make our way to the facilities that make up the ecological project Fundación Puntacana to learn all about the preservation efforts being made for the exotic species in the Dominican Republic. Ready for an authentic adventure in the jungle?

We'll begin our wildlife spotting activity in search of the majestic Ridgway's hawks, one of the most emblematic birds of prey in the region. Did you know that they are some of the rarest species in the world and can only be found in the Dominican Republic and Haiti? Despite great conservation efforts, these animals are in danger of extinction. It'll be a privilege to be able to see them!

Afterwards, we'll make our way to the apiary in the foundation to learn about the importance of bees within this tropical ecosystem. And the best part? We'll taste some of the best honey made in Punta Cana!

Our next stop will be the rhinoceros iguana sanctuary, a fascinating endemic species in danger of extinction. While we observe these reptiles, we'll tell you all about their behaviour and reproduction.

Let's keep going! We'll now go to Coral Cove to find out about the conservation projects being undertaken for the coral on the island. Here, we'll have the chance to participate in an immersive, interactive experience to admire them. Afterwards, we'll go on a 20-minute hike along a trail that leads to a fruit garden.

Lastly, the activity will take us to Iniri Lagoon, in the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Reserve. Once we've arrived, you'll have 1 hour and 20 minutes of free time to enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush vegetation.

After visiting the Indigenous Eyes Reserve, we'll begin our return journey, where we'll say our goodbyes at our initial meeting point after a total of 3 hours.
