Whale Watching in Patagonia

  • 17 reviews | 335 travellers
It was absolutely fantastic! The tour was very well organized and we got to see so many humpback whales and other animals. The guide was extremly friendly and explained many things. The captain gave us the feeling that we have all the time in the world to watch the animals, the glacier and the scenery. But he also paid a lot of attention to the animals. We would highly recommend this tour.

Whale Watching in Patagonia

After meeting at the scheduled time on Calle José Nogueira in Punta Arenas, we'll transfer to Carrera Bay, where we'll board a boat and set sail on the waters of the Strait of Magellan.

During the first part of the boat trip, we will enjoy the glorious sunrise over Tierra del Fuego and the Fuerte Bulnes fort. This stronghold was the first Chilean construction on the Strait of Magellan. The warm glow from the rising sun on the horizon will enchant you!

We'll pass in front of Cape Froward, the southerly most point on the mainland of America. From the boat, you'll get to see elephant seals and sea lions resting on the rocks. You'll also have the opportunity to admire humpback whales as these enormous creatures are native to these protected waters, part of the Francisco Coloane Marine Park. What's more, we'll approach the glaciers of Santa Inés Island to admire these gigantic ice masses.

Around midday, we will recharge our batteries with a tasty lunch on board the boat, before slowly making our way back to Punta Arenas, admiring the spectacular landscapes of this remote corner of Patagonia along the way.

The tour ends back at the original departure point.
