Join us on an unforgettable boat trip through the Strait of Magellan to Cape Froward, the southernmost point of the American mainland. Along the way, we'll hike to the renowned Cross of the Seas.
Cape Froward Adventure Tour Highlights
At the designated time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Punta Arenas and set off on a road trip to the Punta Arbol pier. Here, our adventure begins as we embark on a boat excursion through the iconic Strait of Magellan, the channel that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.
As we traverse the waters, we'll get breathtaking views, sailing through a region full of extraordinary landscapes. From our vantage point on the boat, we'll admire the lush Magellanic forests, towering Andean peaks, and captivating fjords. On this remarkable voyage, we'll encounter Mount Tarn, the San Isidro lighthouse, and the bays of El Águila, El Indio, San Nicolás, and Rosas.
Our journey southward continues, bringing us face-to-face with Mount Sarmiento. If conditions are favorable, we may even spot native wildlife, such as southern dolphins and sea lions, marking our proximity to Cape Froward. Ever wondered why it has this name? We'll experience the name's origin first-hand if the weather permits a shore visit; otherwise, our nautical adventure persists.
Upon reaching Cape Froward, we'll embark on a one-hour hiking expedition, leading us to the Cross of the Seas—a crucifix that stands as one of the southernmost in the world. The panoramic views from this vantage point are nothing short of spectacular. We'll get to see part of the Alberto de Agostini National Park.
Following the hike, we'll refuel with a picnic lunch, including sandwiches, nuts, and a choice of tea or coffee.
Our return journey will bring us back to Punta Arbol by boat, where we'll head back to Punta Arenas. Anticipate arriving at your hotel around 12 hours after our initial pickup.
