Titicaca Lake & Isla del Sol Catamaran Tour

  • 4 reviews | 89 travellers
We visited Copacabana, a beautiful sanctuary in Bolivia, then we went by catamaran to Isla del Sol, the catamaran was very comfortable and with good services. On Isla del Sol we had the opportunity to take a beautiful tour and we were fortunate that the Transturin agency has a space there with a museum, llamas, we were able to learn about various traditions and history of the culture of Bolivia and then they transferred us to the hotel on the peace. I highly recommend the tour, the agency and Grace our guide

Titicaca Lake & Isla del Sol Catamaran Tour

After picking you up at your hotel in Puno, we'll head south to cross the border with Bolivia to get to Copacabana.

Before leaving for the Isla del Sol, we'll go to the Copacabana Sanctuary. At the port of Copacabana, we'll board a catamaran that will take us through the waters of Lake Titicaca to the legendary Isla del Sol. During the trip, we'll offer you a snack on board to cure your hunger!

We'll disembark in Yumani at the southern tip of the legendary Isla del Sol, and explore the area considered as the cradle of the gods responsible for the origin of the Inca Empire. We'll discover the archaeological remains of the Incas, including an impressive system of terraces known as the Inca Garden. The tour will lead us up the famous Inca Staircase to reach the Sacred Fountain, where underground streams of water converge, considered by the locals as "the fountain of youth" for its supposed healing properties.

Our next stop will be the impressive Inti Wata Complex, Bolivia's main private tourist attraction, only available to those who have visited Isla del Sol via catamaran. Here, we'll also find the Ekako underground museum, the Traditional Medicine and Totora Raft Construction Centers, a handicraft center, the Intica shelter, a Botanical Garden of Inca agriculture, and a variety of Andean camelids.

After discovering the secrets and legends of the Inca civilization, we'll return to the port of Yumani to embark on the catamaran that will take us back to Copacabana. Here, we'll have a delicious buffet lunch on board. The meal includes quinoa soup, different salads, trout with dijon or chicken in its sauce, with spring rice, sautéed potatoes or cooked banana, and dessert (ice cream or fruit salad).

Once in Copacabana, we'll head back to the hotels in Puno, arriving 11 hours later.

Tour Ending in La Paz

When making your booking, you'll have the option to book a tour finishing in La Paz. In this case, we'll take a bus from Copacabana to La Paz, with the tour finishing at approximately 7 pm.
