Lampa, Pucará & Tinajani Tour
Description
After picking you up at your hotel in Puno at the scheduled time, we'll begin our tour to Pucará and Lampa. Are you ready to get to discover the highlights of these spots?
Our first stop will be at Lampa, known as the city of the seven wonders. Why is that? We'll spend an hour and a half on a guided tour of the historic center of Lampa, which stands out for the color of its houses. We'll walk through narrow streets to the church of Santiago Apostle, the main temple of the town. We'll visit the interior of this colonial-era parish church and travel back to the 17th century to learn about its history.
Afterwards, we'll return to our vehicle and head to our final destination, Pucará. We'll learn about one of the main pre-Inca civilizations by visiting the lithic museum, where we'll see cave sculptures and ceramics belonging to the ancient Pucara culture.
We'll visit the archaeological site of Pucará, whose origins date back to 200 BC. On this site, consisting of a residential and a ceremonial area, we'll see ancient ruins and the remains of stepped pyramids dedicated to different deities.
Next, you'll have free time to grab some lunch. After eating, we'll start our journey to the cañón de Tinajani where we'll enjoy a walking tour. Its landscape formed by impressive and giant rocks will amaze you!
The excursion will come to an end after 10 hours of sightseeing as we drop you off at your hotel in Puno.
