At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puno and travel to Chucuito, a town that preserves its colonial and pre-Hispanic architecture.
First, we'll enter Inca Uyo, considered the fertility temple of Mother Earth. Did you know that its purpose was to herald the solstices and equinoxes? Also, you'll be surprised by this observatory's fascinating structures. You'll have plenty of time after the guide's explanations to take pictures, of course.
Then, we'll go to the main square, where we'll find the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion. Do you know why Chucuito is known as the city of the Royal Boxes? We'll tell you all about it!
We'll move on to the viewpoint in town, from where we'll have a breathtaking view of this area of southern Peru and of the Titicaca Lake.
Lastly, you'll have half an hour of free time to continue exploring Chucuito. You'll arrive in Puno at 12:30 pm.
