Chucuito, Aramu Muru & Juli Day Trip

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puno. There we'll begin an excursion to Chucuito, Aramu Muru, and Juli, three towns full of charm and ancestral history.

Our first stop will take place in Chucuito, a town located on a hill overlooking Lake Titicaca characterized by its great archaeological wealth. Here we'll visit its most representative places, including perhaps the most iconic of them all: the Temple of Fertility.

We'll then continue our excursion to the Chullpas de Molloco, where we'll admire these extraordinary constructions dating back to pre-Columbian times. What was their purpose? Why do they have a rounded shape? We'll find out all about them!

Next, we'll stop at some Andean waru waru. These floodable furrows create a microclimate that mitigates the effect of frost, effectively growing crops. A fascinating sight!

The tour then takes us to Aramu Muru, also called the Gate of the Gods. According to an ancient legend, this mysterious place will one day be the gateway to Earth for several deities. We'll learn all about this ancient stone portal during the tour.

Our next destination will be the city of Juli, nicknamed the 'Rome of Latin America'. Why is it called that, you ask? You'll understand as soon as we start walking through its churches, such as St. Peter's, St. John Lateran, or St. Dominic. You'll also be able to admire great paintings by Cusquenian artists.

Afterward, we'll stop at a local restaurant where you can have lunch at your leisure. Then, we'll return to your hotel in Puno, where we'll arrive nine hours after departure.
