2-Day Trip to Aymara and Juli
Tour Details
Day 1: Puno - Aymara
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puno to begin this fascinating adventure.
Our first stop will be in Inca Uyo, also known as the Temple of Fertility. Here, you'll be able to see phallic sculptures at the entrance and inside the temple. Its history and significance will surprise you!
We'll then head to the Mollo Archeological Complex, a Pre-Incan settlement of the Lupaca people. It'll feel like you've travelled back in time! Afterwards, we'll learn about Andean Waru Warus, ancestral agricultural techniques used for cultivation in flood-prone areas. We'll see how these feats of agricultural engineering create a microclimate that protects crops from frost.
Our next stop will be Aramu Muru, also known as the 'Gate of the Gods'. This altar, carved from a single piece of rock over 5 meters long, is surrounded by a very unique landscape. You'll notice the special energy of this place!
For lunch, we'll make our way to a restaurant in Juli, where you can order dishes from the menu. After this, you'll have a free afternoon on the shore of Lake Titicaca, where, if you wish, you can enjoy water activities like kayaking, quad biking, zip-lining, or a sailboat ride.
We'll end the day at a hostel in Juli, where we'll spend the night.
Day 2: Juli - Puno
We'll have breakfast in the hostel before beginning our second day exploring Juli's churches and museums. Get ready for a day filled with culture and history! Our first stop will be the Óscar Velasco Mesas Museum, followed by a tour of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.
We'll continue with a guided tour of the San Juan de Letrán Church and San Pedro Cathedral, where you can immerse yourselves in the local religious architecture and art. We'll also visit the Church of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem.
To top off this Andean experience, if you want, you can participate in a coca leaf reading on San Bartolomé Hill with Yatiri, who are the healers and sages of Aymara medicine.
Around 2 pm, we'll return to Puno, ending this 2-day tour at your hotel.
