Tour of Carretera Austral Villages
Between 7:30 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel and drive to the small village of Caleta La Arena. Once there, we'll board a ferry boat that'll take us across the Reloncaví estuary towards the Carretera Austral.
After a 35-minute crossing, we'll disembark at Caleta Puelche and begin the route along the Carretera Austral, an important 745.5-mile (1,200-km) road that connects this town with Villa O'Higgins. We'll find ancient larch forests, volcanoes, glaciers, and fjords on this famous road that is considered one of the most spectacular land routes in the world.
On this excursion, we'll drive the initial stretch of the road, visiting different villages while admiring the flora and fauna of the Carretera Austral. We'll combine bus rides with short hikes that will allow us to get to know this part of Chilean Patagonia in depth.
In addition to visiting villages like Caleta Pichicolo or Hornopirén, we'll also enjoy the natural beauty of this region. We'll hike through native forests to admire places such as the Rio Negro waterfalls and a stratovolcano of 5,157.5 ft (1,572 meters) altitude!
After arriving at Hornopirén, our final destination, we'll start our way back. We'll finish the excursion by dropping you back off at your hotel around 7 pm.
