History and nature merge in this tour of Puerto Varas, Nueva Braunau, and Lahuen Ñadi. We'll walk through lush forests, enjoy incredible views of Lake Llanquihue and learn how the ancient settlers lived in these Chilean lands.
Puerto Varas, Nueva Braunau & Lahuen Ñadi Tour
After picking you up at your hotel at the appointed time, we'll start a tour of Puerto Varas where we'll learn all the secrets of the so-called City of Roses. Let's get started!
The first stop will be at a viewpoint that offers incredible vistas of Lake Llanquihue. Afterward, we'll stroll through the historic center of Puerto Varas to learn about the history of this city founded in the 19th century.
We'll see the old quarter and admire the exterior of emblematic buildings such as the Baroque Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its aesthetics are very reminiscent of a temple in the German region of Baden-Württemberg - we'll find out why this resemblance is so striking during the tour!
Afterward, we'll board the minibus and head west to discover the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District. We'll start in the town of Nueva Braunau, famous for its traditional way of life and numerous dairy farms. Here we'll visit the Antonio Felmer Museum, an exhibition that brings together a wide variety of objects from the old settlers of these lands.
Then we'll approach the Lahuen Ñadi Natural Monument. We'll walk through this beautiful larch forest admiring its flora and spotting different birds such as the black woodpecker and the black-throated huet-huet as well as mammals like the pudú and the gray fox. You won't be able to stop taking pictures!
After a short hiking route, we'll approach the Angelmó market in Puerto Montt, full of fruit, vegetables, and fresh fish stalls. Around the market, we'll also see kiosks with different pieces of handicrafts and, if you want, you can buy a souvenir or some food.
We'll finish the activity between 3:30 pm and 4 pm leaving you at your hotel.
