Chacao, Dalcahue, Castro and other beautiful Chilean towns await on Chiloé Island. Be seduced by the incredible scenery on this excursion from Puerto Varas.
Chiloé Island Day Trip: Chacao, Castro y Dalcahue
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Varas at 8 am and head to the port ready to start an enjoyable cruise along the Chacao Canal. Did you know that this is the area in Chile with the greatest variety of birds? See how many you can spot on the journey!
After sailing for just 30 minutes, we'll anchor down at the port of Chacao on Chiloé Island. Here you'll see the picturesque church and the main square. On the island, we'll also discover the town of Castro, with its beautiful colourful houses.
After eating in Castro (you'll have approximately one hour to have lunch as you please), we'll head to where there are some wooden houses built on stilts above the water. Known as the Gamboa River Palafitos Stilt Houses, as they sit above said river, you're sure to be impressed by their originality and charm.
We'll continue towards one of the prettiest wooden temples on Chiloé Island; the Church of Nercón, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our last stop will be in Dalcahue, a picturesque town where we'll visit the craft market and the Ethnographic Historic Museum (entrance not included).
From Chiloé Island, we'll return to Puerto Varas and drop you back at your hotel at about 7 pm.
