On this excursion from Puerto Vallarta, we'll visit two Magical Towns in the state of Jalisco all in one day. We'll visit Mascota and Talpa de Allende and learn all about their fascinating past.
Mascota & Talpa de Allende Excursion
At 7:30 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Vallarta and head east to visit two of the Magical Towns in the state of Jalisco, Mascota and Talpa de Allende.
Before arriving at our first destination of the day, we'll make a stop in the small town of La Estancia, where we'll enjoy a typical Mexican breakfast.
Are you ready to get to know Mascota? We'll stroll through the historic centre admiring its colonial architecture and learn all about its past. We'll see the most emblematic spots such as the church of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores and the Municipal Palace as well as the unfinished church of the Precious Blood. You'll also discover what the Mexican Revolution had to do with the construction's termination.
The last stop of the day will be in Talpa de Allende, where you'll have 1 hour and 20 minutes of free time for lunch in a local restaurant. Our next stop will be a guided tour of this Magic Town.
During the tour, we'll approach the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Talpa, a place of pilgrimage to which more than three million parishioners visit every year. You'll learn all about the history of the building which dates back to 1782 and you'll discover the Gothic and Churrigueresque styles.
To round off the excursion we'll return to the minibus leave you at your hotel at approximately 8:30 pm.
