On this boat trip through the Aysén region we'll sail through the marble caves of Puerto Sánchez and the cathedral and marble chapel of Puerto Tranquilo.
Puerto Sanchez & Puerto Tranquilo Marble Caves Boat Trip
At a time of your choice, we'll meet at the pier of Puerto Tranquilo and start an unforgettable boat trip on Lake General Carrera.
We'll first sail to the shores of the Panichini islet, where we'll stop to admire the old ships that are stranded in the bay. Then we'll head for the marble caverns of Puerto Sánchez: spectacular lake caves that will enchant you with their intense blue and greyish tones.
We'll take the boat into some of these calcium carbonate caves to contemplate their impressive marble walls. In this area of Puerto Sanchez we'll also see a large colony of Andean condors, a very characteristic species of the Aysén region.
We'll continue sailing through this area of the Chilean Patagonia towards the coast of Puerto Tranquilo. There we'll observe its famous marble caves, which are part of a beautiful place declared National Monument of Chile with the rank of Nature Sanctuary - as soon as we arrive you'll understand why!
The crossing will continue under the so-called marble tunnel. As a final touch, we'll sail next to the two best-known geological formations of the General Carrera Lake. These are the islets of the cathedral and the marble chapel, which stand out for their unique shapes.
After a two-hour and 45 minute boat ride, we'll conclude the boat trip by returning to the starting point in Puerto Tranquilo.
