Los Tinajones River Trekking
At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Plata or at Plaza Popular in Cabarete. From there, we'll hit the road to a beautiful natural environment in the interior of the Dominican Republic.
Before arriving we'll make a stop in a town where we'll learn about the preparation of the famous 'Rodaos de Marcela,' an artisanal local product. Then we'll continue on to the Los Tinajones trail to embark on an exciting aquatic adventure.
Once we've got all our equipment ready, we'll set off on our route, making our way through rocks and canyons and discovering hidden waterfalls. Do you dare to jump into the void? We'll go in search of the jar-like natural pools characteristic of this area, caves with aquifers and even natural slides created by erosion!
Later, we'll stop to rest and enjoy a snack of cheese, rodao and juice. With our batteries recharged, we'll continue our journey, enjoying views of the dense tropical forest full of cedar, walnut and ceiba trees along the way.
Around 1:30 pm, we'll visit a local family home to enjoy a tasty traditional meal with rice and beans. Bon appetit!
Then, we'll be on our way back to Puerto Plata, where we are expected to arrive at 4 pm.
