Los Charcos de Damajagua are one of the main attractions of Puerto Plata. Take a dip in these natural pools and live an exciting day of adventure, exploring this wonderful area.
Los Charcos de Damajagua Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in Puerto Plata at the scheduled time, we'll travel by minibus to the outskirts of the city. We'll make a 20km journey south towards one of the most amazing natural areas in the north of the Dominican Republic: the famous 27 charcos (puddles) of Damajagua.
The puddles actually form a spectacular set of natural pools. The gigantic waterfalls that pierce the limestone rock of these caves have resulted in open-air caves where you can swim, jump and even slide down a series of natural slides that are great fun for both adults and children.
In one of these 27 pools we'll see "La Tinajita" waterfall. Have you ever wondered what the origin of this particular name is? You'll have to wait until the day of the tour to find out! We'll also visit the mysterious "La Virgen" waterfall. There, according to an ancient legend that dates back to the time of the Taino Indians... How will the story end?
After exploring the different pools, we'll replenish our strength with a buffet lunch. With our batteries recharged, we'll say goodbye to the charcos and set off for the Imbert Falls. On the way there, we'll visit a renowned plantation and learn about the local cuisine.
To finish, we'll visit a petrified woodcraft shop - you'll love it! We'll return to the minibus and head back to the different hotels in Puerto Plata, where we'll arrive after a seven-hour excursion.
