Sierra Baguales Hiking Tour
Sierra Baguales Hiking Tour
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Natales at 7:30 am and set off towards the Sierra Baguales.
Upon arrival, we'll enjoy some coffee and cookies before starting our hiking adventure. Once we're finished with breakfast, we'll take a short half-hour walk to the Irene Lagoon, a spectacular lake where the Andean condor lives. In this breathtaking natural spot, we'll also share some fascinating info related to the colonization of Chilean Patagonia.
Afterwards, we'll get on the bus again and head over to the starting point of the second part of the hiking route through the Sierra Baguales. We'll walk for 12 and a half kilometers (7.8 miles) through the mountains to an area where we'll discover marine fossils more than 50 million years old. This area used to be underwater, and we'll be able to see the proof with our own eyes.
Then, we'll go up to a viewpoint located 1200 meters (4,000 feet) above sea level where we'll be able to appreciate views of the snowcapped peaks and valleys below. While taking in the scenery, we'll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch of a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a cereal bar, nuts, and water.
Finally, we'll head back to Puerto Natales, where we'll arrive at your hotel at 6:30 pm.
